- Beans - Beans can be started in succession every few weeks in June through summer. They are great for fixing nitrogen and boosting soil nutrients. Bush beans make great companion plants for peppers.
-
Basil - Basil is fast growing and you can start it in June for harvests in just about 55 days. The more you harvest it the more you'll get!
- Corn - Our Buttergold corn is super fast growing, sow them in June and in starting in around 63 days the each plant will provide 7-8" ears growing on plants that are 5-6' tall. Corn is wind-pollinated so plant them together in a block. Corn plants are tall and sturdy and will provide shade for other vegetables in the garden. They create a great opportunity to plant and grow cilantro, lettuce and spinach and other plants that tend to bolt in the full heat of the sun. Planting corn can also provide a living trellis for other crops in the garden like Scarlett Runner Beans and peas.
