Brilliant scarlet flowers grow against green, heart-shaped foliage. A rapid climber and a hummingbird favorite. Produces 8-12" inch pods containing beautifully mottled reddish-purple beans. Beans are edible and delicious when picked young.  Plant the seeds 1“ deep and 8”  apart in full sun. Harvest edible flowers and beans all season.

One of the oldest runner beans in existence. They are vigorous bean plants and will flower all summer long. The bees and hummingbirds love these flowers. Plants get very heavy so use a strong, tall trellis.

Scarlet Runner Pole Bean seeds can be planted directly into the garden.

Sow directly in the garden after the last frost date.

Plant seeds 1” deep and 8” apart at the base of poles. A trellis, fence, corn stalks or sunflowers work well also. They come up in 7-12 days depending on the soil temperature and grow quickly in cool weather. Plants can grow up to 8-10' tall and have good resistance to mildew and virus.

Continuously pick pods when nearly mature to promote increased production.

Each packet contains 25 Scarlet Runner Pole Bean seeds. Phaseolus coccineus. Annual. Open-pollinated, heirloom, and Non-GMO. Begin harvesting in 55 days. $3.00

This packet plants a 15' row with 25 plants.
