Seeds for Pollinators

Collection: Seeds for Pollinators

The best pollinator seeds provide lots of blooms, varied flower shapes, and rich sources of nectar and pollen from spring through fall. Combine Sunflowers, Echinacea, Lavender and herbs to provide lots of blooms all season long for pollinators and beneficial insects to help your garden thrive.

Herbs are surprisingly great for pollinators as well as the kitchen. Basil, cilantro, oregano  and sage all produce flowers with dozens of blooms. Herbs grow in clusters and provide lots of flowers in a small area, which requires less energy flying from bloom to bloom, so pollinators and beneficial insects love them!

Enjoy a pollinator garden that is also edible with any of the seeds in this collection.

Seeds for Pollinators

Veggies can be part of a pollinator garden, too!

Organic vegetables are good for pollinators too! Cucurbits like cucumbers, pumpkins, zucchini and squashes are also beneficial for pollinators like native squash bees.

Native squash bees (Peponapis and Xenoglossa species) are solitary, ground-nesting specialist bees that are vital, highly efficient pollinators for pumpkins, squash, zucchini, and gourds (Cucurbita)

The blooms of cucurbits like squash  provide nectar and pollen for bees and other insects.

HOW TO GROW

Organically grown Corn for Pollinators

Corn is also beloved by bees and other insects for it's protein-rich pollen when in flower. A single corn plant produces millions of pollen grains, offering a valuable food source for bees when other flowering plants are scarce.
