How long does it take to grow peppers from seed: Fastest growing peppers

Some peppers, like our Orange Jalapeno, Yellow Jalapeno and our Early Jalapeno seeds are all super fast growing, which start harvesting at around 65 days after starting from seed. Fastest Growing Peppers: Banana Peppers
The Banana Pepper is also pretty fast growing, it takes about 75 days from seed to harvest. These pretty yellow wax peppers keep coming for the rest of the season, too, and are great for making our simple Pickled Banana Peppers recipe



Big Jim Chile peppers grow in 78 days from seed to harvest

Big Jim Legacy Chile seeds grow quickly into huge at 8-10" in length, and area also fairly fast growers, with the first pods starting to ripen in about 78 days. For a faster growing big green chile, try our Hatch Green Medium Big Jim chile, which have pods a little earlier, with the harvest in around 75 days.

Super hot pepper seeds, can take quite a bit longer to harvest – for example, the hottest pepper in the world, the Carolina Reaper takes 90 days from starting seeds to the start of harvest, while our Red Bhut Jolokia Ghost Pepper seeds take 110 days to harvest!

For fastest germination to get your peppers growing quickly, it is best to keep pepper seeds warm at 80-90˚ F for fast and successful germination.

Most pepper seeds germinate within 7-21 days, but some can take longer than that so be patient and keep them consistently warm. Seedling heat mats can help greatly, even after they're sprouted – peppers grow fastest in warmer temperatures.
