Mosco Pueblo Mirasol Chile Seeds - Authentic from Colorado
The Mosco chile peppers are the most delicious pepper you can find north of the NM state line. This mirasol chile from Pueblo, Colorado is very meaty with a sweet flavor and medium heat. This chile will make the best red chile sauce you have ever tasted.
History: A single pepper plant was selected from a crop of peppers grown from the bag of Pueblo mirasol seeds given to Dr. Michael Bartolo from his father. The seeds were from his late uncle, Harry Mosco, an Italian farmer that had farmed the east Pueblo area for decades. The Pueblo ‘Mosco’ has a different flavor from the Hatch chile. It tends to have thicker walls, which make it very easy to roast, and a little more heat.
Pods grow to 5" long with thick flesh and red color. They have a very distinctive sweet flavor with nice heat for cooking your favorite dishes. Plants are very productive and grow well in high elevation, short seasons or dry climates. Capsicum annuum (75 days)

In early spring, start seeds indoors 8 weeks prior to warm nightly temperatures. Place the seeds in sterile media and cover 1/4” deep. Provide 85°F bottom heat, bright light and keep moist at all times. Seeds will germinate in 7 - 10 days. Transplant seedlings into pots and grow until there are 6 true leaves on the plant. Plant them directly into rich soil, 30” apart. Harvest peppers when they are green or wait a few more weeks until they are red for great flavor.
