Mirasol Mosco Pueblo Chile Seeds - The Sweet Heat of Colorado

Discover the rich, meaty flavor of Mirasol Mosco Pueblo Chile Seeds, a unique pepper variety that stands out with its sweet taste and medium heat. Grown in the high elevations of Pueblo, Colorado, these chiles are perfect for creating the most flavorful red chile sauce you’ve ever tasted. Whether you’re a home gardener or a culinary enthusiast, these seeds will bring a touch of Colorado’s finest to your garden and kitchen.

Why Choose Mirasol Mosco Pueblo Chile Seeds?

Unlike the more common Hatch chile, the Pueblo ‘Mosco’ offers a distinctive sweet flavor with a pleasant medium heat (Scoville 5,000). Its thick walls make it incredibly easy to roast, while its 5 in. long pods boast a vibrant red color and rich, meaty texture. These plants thrive in high-elevation, short-season, or dry climates, making them a versatile choice for gardeners in various regions.

A Legacy of Flavor

The Mirasol Mosco Pueblo Chile has a fascinating history. Originating from a single plant selected by Dr. Michael Bartolo, these seeds carry the legacy of Harry Mosco, an Italian farmer who cultivated the land in Pueblo for decades. This heritage variety delivers unmatched flavor and productivity, ensuring your garden yields a bountiful harvest.

Growing Your Own Mirasol Mosco Chiles

Each packet contains 10 heirloom seeds, ready to bring life to your garden. For best results, start seeds indoors 8 weeks before the last frost. Plant them in sterile media, cover 1/4 in. deep, and maintain 85°F bottom heat with bright light. Seeds typically germinate in 7-10 days. Once seedlings develop 6 true leaves, transplant them 30 in. apart in rich soil. Harvest green for a milder taste or wait for the peppers to turn red for maximum sweetness and depth of flavor.

Perfect for Culinary Creations

These chiles are a chef’s dream-ideal for salsas, sauces, stews, and more. Their thick flesh and balanced heat make them a standout ingredient in any dish. Whether you’re roasting, stuffing, or blending them into a sauce, the Mirasol Mosco Pueblo Chile will elevate your cooking to new heights.

My favorite chili for roasting

My favorite chili for roasting. Heavy production and thick peppers but needs protection from sunburn since the peppers grow up. The plant I have this year does not have as much heat as last year's.

The plant only grew up about 2 inches. The plant did not produce anything.

Hi! Sorry to hear you had a poor experience with our seeds.

Sandia Seed makes every effort possible to ensure your success.

Here are our tips for success:

1. Seedling mix, never peat moss, cover seed 1/4”.
2. Moist at all times, can’t dry out once, seed will die.
3. Warm at all times, if they get cold the clock starts over.
4. Patience, don't compare peppers to any other vegetable germination times.

Pepper seeds only germinate when it is warm, because they want to complete their life-cycle and produce fruit. There is no reason for them to start growing when it is cold or dry. Each pepper variety takes a different amount of time to germinate. It can be 7 days or it can be over 45 days. More info at sandiaseed.com/pages/grow.

If, you have followed our instructions, and still do not get your seeds to germinate, please contact sales@sandiaseed.com with your order info and the seeds you had trouble with. We will go over your germination procedure and find a solution for you. And we can offer replacement seeds or a seed refund.

Pueblo Chili

My favorite green chili to grow. Plenty of heat and after roasting sit perfectly on a hamburger. Also my wonderful wife makes Puelo Chili jam that is a real crowd pleaser

LOVE THEM!

Unusual because they grow upward! They did really well in containers in my greenhouse in Nova Scotia, Canada. I started out growing Hatch chiles because I'm from Colorado and SO miss Hatch roasted, but these taste great so I'll order more this year.

Mirasol Mosco Pueblo Chile

I live in Denver and have had Pueblo Chiles from the source. They are truly wonderful. The Sandia Pepper Seeds bred true and produced an amazing tasty chile. Nicely prolific.

So far do good

They're still growing. Can't wait for the finished product

Excited to plant

However, I bought the seeds too late to plant in this hot climate.
I'll need to wait for Spring. I also plan to buy your Paprika pepper.
Thanks

Mirasol Mosco Pueblo Chile Seeds

Some of the seeds were started and they did sprout well. That is about as far along as they are as we are in Zone 6b and can't plant outside until mid-May. Give me until August and send me an email to review then once they mature and I have sampled them in a few dishes.

So far so good.

Got my order quick. They are just beginning to sprout. And with less than ideal temps. It's been a week. Happy with my purchase.

So worth it!

This was out 1st year growing our own chilies. We had a chilly rainy spring but were still able to to get enough harvest that was so worth it! They were delicious! Can't wait to repeat and try more varieties next year.

B Co Garden away from home!

Best seeds you can find! I do not buy peppers from any other seed company, except Sandia Seeds! Delicious taste and texture very authentic; I was raised in Pueblo Co so these have a special place in my heart ❤️

Fantastic flavor

I live about an hour from Pueblo, so i had to try these. While hotter than expected, these have an incredible flavor! Fruity and rich. I can't wait to make sauce with these!

Fantastic Flavor

These chilis have a fantastic flavor without being overpoweringly hot. They are hotter than a Poblano but have a distinct chili flavor. They make delicious green chili and other recipies. I use these in place of Hatch chilis for most everything. If you want more head then try the Giadone Mosco Chili. Very similar, just hotter.

These are amazing!

I got a small sample in my full order of hot peppers and I love these! So unusual and the flavour is great. It's so fun seeing them grow up instead of hanging down like other peppers. Flesh is meaty, hot and sweet and they make great chile rellenos.

Best chilies' in the states.

Just something about these chili easy to grow and great producers.

Pueblo Chiles are the best!

Don't get me wrong, I love Hatch chiles, too, but Pueblo Chiles have always been my absolute favorites. They do have thicker flesh so they're easier to roast on my grill and peel/deseed. They make great chile sauce and are also excellent on pizza, or in burritos, tamales, tacos... you name it! Just ordered my seeds, and I can't wait to grow these, I'm going to plant a whole row of them!
