This Heinz tomato has a sweet-acid balance making it a great sauce and canning tomato. It is an early red plum type that often ripens all its 3 oz fruits before frost. Firm fruits for cooking, on compact sturdy plants. “The perfect canning tomatoes for a short-season".
Non-GMO, Open Pollinated, Heirloom (73 days)
Fruit Color: Red Size 3 oz.
Shape: Plum
Plant Habit: Determinate. Plant Size: 3 ft.
Germination Tip: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before transplant date. Sow the seeds 1/8" deep into seedling mix. Keep soil warm and moist at all times. Germination takes 5-10 days. Move the seedlings to bright light then transplant to larger pots when first two true leaves appear. Allow plants to develop a robust root system indoors, then harden them off and transplant into the warm garden soil.
