Martha Stewart's Biquinho Peppers Post - Grow your own Sweety Drops!

Biquinho Peppers - Grow your own Sweety Drops!

In November this year, Biquinho peppers got a nod from Martha Stewart in her Instagram post about harvesting & pickling them. We love these Sweety Drop Brazilian peppers, too!  She includes a simple recipe idea in her post, but you can see our full recipe below if you want to make some Sweety Drops from your own garden!

Martha Stewart's Biquinho Peppers Post
Biquinho Pepper Seeds - Grow your own Sweety Drops! The famous Biquinho is a sweet yellow Brazilian pepper that is a real treat and super easy to grow in your garden—they're as charming as they are tasty! Their flavor is bright and citrusy, with a bit of tang and just a gentle kick of heat that's not overpowering at all. They're super popular in Brazil, where they started out, and you can eat the whole pepper (seeds and all) without worry.
You can snack on them raw, toss them into a dish while cooking, or most people love to pickle them in vinegar for a punchy side to any meal. Honestly, we agree with Martha and love pickling these special little sweet peppers, in our opinion they’re irresistible that way! Here is our great recipe below if you want to give it a try!

Pickled Biquinho Peppers are also known as Sweety Drops

Here is our Pickled Biquinho Peppers Recipe:
(Pickled Sweety Drop Peppers)

  • 2 cups+ Biquinho peppers (ranging from yellow to red)
  • 1 Part (1 cup) white wine vinegar or other clear vinegar
  • 1 Part (1 cup) water
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 10 black peppercorns
  • 1 dried bay leaf or fresh
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch white sugar

Instructions
Wash and dry the Biquinho peppers and place in the sterilized jars.

Bring vinegar and water to a simmering boil in a saucepan, add garlic, peppercorns, bay leaf, salt and sugar and simmer for a couple of minutes. Pour this pickling brine over the Biquinho peppers in the jars. Wipe the rims and sides clean and seal the jars. Leave jars on the counter to cool off to room temperature, then store in the fridge. Enjoy within a month, they get a little softer and better after about 2 days in the fridge.

Serve these Pickled Sweety Drop Peppers as an appetizer, or garnish, they're also great on sandwiches or thrown into stir fries or soups.

Biquinho Pepper seeds grow into 24” compact plants and produce hundreds of 1-1/4" peppers that transition from pale green to sunny yellow, deepening to orange-red when fully ripe, as shown above. Whether you’re a home gardener or a gourmet chef, these peppers add a colorful and flavorful twist to any dish.If you’re craving something fun for your garden and your taste buds, these sunny little Brazilian peppers are here to party! These poppable pepper bites burst with zesty citrus and tangy goodness, plus just a faint tease of heat that makes every mouthful a mini adventure. Whether you’re crunching them straight from the vine, letting them jazz up your cooking, or pickling them in vinegar for a snack that steals the spotlight, you’re in for a treat.

Loved in Brazil, and foodie circles everywhere, these peppers pack flavor in every bite, seeds and all. Once they’re pickled, good luck stopping at just one...they’re that addictive.
