Dragon's Breath Pepper

dragon's breath pepper

Our seed customers are always asking if we
have Dragon's Breath Pepper for Sale...
and now we do!!

Dragon's Breath PeppersYou asked for the Dragon's Breath Pepper and we now have seeds for these beasts!  We have limited availability of Dragon's Breath Pepper Seeds so make sure to order them now while they last.

This mythological demon pepper is rumored to be hotter than the hottest pepper in the world, the Carolina Reaper pepper. We had our doubts, but now we know, it is EXTREME heat. The seeds we are  offering this season are from official Dragon’s Breath peppers from the U.K. They were dripping with capsaicin oil and difficult to work with when removing the seeds.

We have had so many people ask us for the mythological Dragon's Breath Peppers.
While there have been lots of rumors flying around the internet that these Dragon's Breath Peppers are the hottest pepper in the world, they have NOT yet been given any formal recognition. In fact, they're hard to even find real seeds for! We finally got some good ones and the strain seems stable and they are wicked hot!! Hard to say if they're as hot as the Reaper, but believe us, they're HOT! By the way, if you want to grow the official Hottest Pepper in the World, get our easy-to-grow Carolina Reaper Seeds »

September 2019 – Dragon's Breath Pepper Update:
We are excited to be growing our 3rd generation of seeds. The strain we received was not stable.  The very small pods grew next to medium and large pods on the same plant. We are selecting for a more stable strain that produces all small pods. Wow, these are fire hot! This is the only pepper that burns just by holding it in your hand. It's skin doesn't even have to be broken to burn. Nasty Dragon's Breath for sure! The reason these are not available yet in 2019 is that the strain seems far from stable. Stay tuned...

June 14, 2019 Dragon's Breath Pepper Update:

See the photos below, the plants we grew from the Dragon's Breath pepper pods we acquired have hot peppers that are ripening and they are HOT HOT HOT! We can't say if they are record holders for being the hottest pepper but there is no doubt they are hot. The Carolina Reaper is likely still the champ. But these Dragon peppers are fun to grow and they pack some fire. We're saving seeds and will continue to grow these out to see if these Dragon's Breath strain seeds are stable... stay tuned!

May 20, 2019 – Dragon's Breath Pepper Seeds Update:

Our Dragon's Breath seed trials are finally getting somewhere. While the last several batches of Dragon's Breath chili plants did not produce flowers and seemed sickly, this latest batch is doing quite well!  In the photo above we show one of our eight Dragons Breath Pepper plants that are at almost 24" tall up to 30". Four of the plants have peppers growing and a fifth plant is flowering. The other 3 are still just leaves. The "dragon" fruits are very small and we are waiting longer for a full mature red and good seeds. Stay tuned for more updates! These plants are the first ones to have pods in our several batches of Dragon's Breath Pepper seed trials. We acquired some Dragon's Breath Pepper pods last year and have been growing them out to see if the strain is stable. This last batch has been the most successful, and we hope to see if this is a legitimate strain that holds true before offering the seeds.

Stay tuned for more updates on our Dragon's Breath Pepper plants! See photo below of a wrinkled green Dragon's Breath pod. We'll post more photos soon as they ripen to red.

Dragon's Breath Pepper Seedling

Here is a video of some of some newer seedlings that we grew out from the Dragon's Breath Pepper Seeds we tried – these were all from the same pod, so the size variations are surprising and make us think that the strain may not be stable. We're going to keep growing these and as soon as we're confident that we have good seeds that will produce well, we'll put them up for sale on our website. Until then, we have our doubts!

Below is a photo of one of the pods of the Dragons Breath Pepper that we acquired along with the seeds. We have been growing several batches of these seeds (trying seeds from one pod at a time), to see if the strain is stable and if it produces peppers. So far, we've gotten only vegetation, and no peppers, but we'll keep you posted as we have more updates!  We hope to see some pods soon, but time will tell.

IF and when we do offer the seeds, you'll find them here in our online seed store:

Below is a video of the Dragon's Breath Peppers that we acquired and planted seeds from. We have tested several batches of seeds from pods, but haven't had a lot of luck yet with the plants doing well, nor are they producing any Dragon's Breath pods. We'll see if we can get any to grow our and hold up to their fantastical reputation!
