Growing Tips for Success
Start your Shishito Pepper Seeds indoors 8 weeks before last frost. Plant 1/4" deep in sterile media with 85°F bottom heat. Keep moist and provide bright light for best germination (7-14 days). Transplant when seedlings develop 6 true leaves, spacing 30" apart in rich soil or large containers.
Harvest when peppers reach full size and enjoy them blistered with sea salt - a classic preparation that highlights their natural sweetness!

These Shishitos delicious mild pepper with a sweet flavor! We love simple blistering them with a bit of oil and salt – the perfect appetizer!

Wow, these Shishitos just keep coming. We love frying them up in sesame oil with a little salt, they are so yummy. Will grow again, the productive plants provided so many peppers to enjoy! We also shared them with the neighbors. :)

My two plants grew to nearly three feet tall and kept producing pods from early summer all the way to fall. I'm going to grow these every year now. I grew mine in pots.
These are actually very easy to grow. We used to buy them at the grocery store in small boxes for $5-7 and now we can pick a "box" of them every few days. We like to fry them in a cast iron pan with olive oil, a splash of lemon juice, and salt & pepper. Delicious.
These are our favorite veggies in the garden, we pick a bowl-full of Shishitos every couple days to add to meals – delicious! Very productive plants, easy to grow, and early, too. Thanks for the quality seeds.
good flavor and grows well. Occasionally one a bit hot, but most are mild and a great flavor.
Long time gardener, but 2022 was first time peppers from seed. Zone 5, north front range Colorado. Seeds sprouted well indoors in April. Used heat mat. Seeds planted Apr 21, transplant to small indoor pots May 10, transplant outside into 3.5 gallon pots (1 plant per pot) on June 15 after careful hardening off. First pepper harvest Aug 5. Last pepper harvest Sept 15. Incredible number of peppers per plant. At least 50 per plant. Very popular snack for us - cook with the stems on to make an easy handle. Pan roasted in olive oil, flavor is great. Watch out for the occasional hot one - no way to tell until you bite in, but fortunately the hot ones are rare. Will definitely grow in 2023: I will experiment with larger containers and count the yield, aiming for 100 per plant.
Pretty much every seed sprouted from my packet last summer, and I had tons of Shishitos to enjoy and share. Highly recommend! I still have some seeds left so will plant last year's packet leftovers, but will be ordering another pack for next season in the fall. Thanks for the great seeds.
