Grow Unique & Ornamental Fish Pepper Seeds

Discover the captivating beauty of Fish Pepper Seeds, a rare heirloom variety prized for its stunning variegated foliage and striped peppers. This unique plant is not only a showstopper in your garden but also a piece of living history, tracing back to the 1940s when it was cultivated by black caterers in Baltimore for its use in white paprika.

Why Choose Fish Pepper Seeds?

With their striking mottled green and white leaves and pendant-shaped peppers that resemble swimming fish, these plants are a gardener's delight. The 2" curving fruits transition through a mesmerizing color spectrum, starting white with green stripes, turning orange with brown stripes, and finally maturing to a vibrant red.

Key Features:

  • Ornamental Beauty: Gorgeous variegated foliage and colorful striped peppers make this plant a visual masterpiece.
  • Historical Significance: An heirloom variety with roots in African American culinary history.
  • Very Hot Heat Level: Packing a punch at 30,000 Scoville units, perfect for spice lovers.
  • Non-GMO & Open-Pollinated: Sustainably grown seeds that you can save year after year.

Growing Tips:

Start your Fish Pepper Seeds indoors 8 weeks before the last frost. Plant in sterile media, keep moist, and provide 85°F bottom heat for optimal germination. Transplant when seedlings have 6 true leaves, spacing them 30" apart in rich soil or large containers. Harvest when peppers display their vibrant stripes, or leave them to mature to red.

Packet contains 10 seeds. Add this extraordinary heirloom to your garden today and enjoy a harvest that's as beautiful as it is flavorful!

Tons of peppers

These were cool looking plants and they produced a ton of pods. Will grow again next year.

variegated and bright

We loved growing these! Easy to germinate and very strong seedlings. Would have gotten all 5 stars but it just wasn't as prolific of a producer as some of the other hot peppers we grew. All fruit had beautiful stripes which is why we picked these in particularly!

Beautiful foliage

Lovely leaves, white mottling. The peppers themselves while edible are v v hot and do not have a lot of flavour. If you're looking to add a hit of heat they come in handy.

Gorgeous plant and pepper

We are in zone 8a, Georgia, USA. Germination rate was good, but these were slower to flower and make than the jalapeños or cayenne. This is an heirloom pepper with quite a story, but the plants themselves were gorgeous. Honestly, the variegated patterns were so pretty they would look great anywhere. I am hoping to grow more of these next year. Heat level was markedly warmer than your average peppers. I put some in southern vinegar pepper sauce.
