Peppers Growing Slowly?

Peppers Growing Slowly

Don't worry if your peppers are growing slowly after transplanting into your garden! Peppers really enjoy warm soil and, after transplanting, they typically take a couple weeks to settle in and grow deeper roots before taking off!

We do recommend planting peppers after it has warmed up nicely, as they like warm soil and grow much faster with warm weather! If it's still below 50˚ F at night, you may want to wait to plant them until the weather warms up! This will keep them from getting stunted by cold weather.

Also, be sure to harden off your pepper seedlings before transplanting, this will help them from getting sunburned and stunted.

Lastly, make sure they are in full sun, peppers like at least 6-8 hours of sunlight per day.

Be patient, peppers may be slow starters, but once they get going they grow into robust, productive plants!
