Easy Hot Sauce Recipe

Easy Hot Sauce Recipe

Easy Hot Sauce Recipe
2 Cups Water
10 oz of Peppers (around 8 Jalapeños or 4 Habañeros or any hot peppers)
1 Small White Onion
3 Cloves of Garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 Cup Vinegar (5%)

In saucepan, cook 2 cups water, 10 oz. of peppers chopped (maybe 8 jalapeños or 4 habañeros) 1 small white onion chopped, 3 cloves of garlic finely chopped, and 1 teaspoon salt on the stovetop.

Bring to a boil and simmer 15-20 minutes until the veggies are soft. Allow to cool and then add 1 cup 5% white vinegar and purée in blender. Add a little more salt and store in a disinfected pint jar (or you can use hot sauce bottles). We like our hot sauce unstrained, but you can also opt to strain it if desired.

This delicious easy hot sauce be used right away but also continues to taste better over a few weeks.

Variations:
  • Roast your peppers first to give your sauce a more smoky flavor.
  • Add roasted tomatoes to sweeten and bulk up the sauce
  • Add carrots to sweeten and thicken the sauce
  • Add other spices: turmeric, curry, oregano... for a twist!
