Why Grow Hot Red Cherry Peppers?
These heirloom, open-pollinated peppers are easy to grow and produce bountiful yields. The compact 30" tall plants bear bright red, 1.5–2" peppers that mature from green to a striking crimson. With thick walls and upright growth, they’re perfect for snacking, salads, or preserving.

Just tried my first batch of pickled peppers grown from these seeds, and they are the best tasting and textured I have tried from home canning peppers: perfect heat level, not firey (less hot than a jalapeno for sure, about like a great pepperoncin) not too mild, great pepper flavor, not squishy textured. Not huge yields but this is my first year growing them: they are shorter plants and were slightly shaded by larger plants. Great grab bag of possible plants. The fruits range in size from plant to plant from walnut size to grape size. SE Washington state.
These peppers were very prolific and had nice heat. They are wonderful when stuffed and pickled.
I was very surprised to find all of the different seeds I needed in stock, and I received my order extremely quickly. Seeds are currently germinating, and I look forward to the results next fall!
These were abundant and perfect for pickling. I also grew your sweet versions of these cherry peppers and put them both into the jars for a bit of pepper roulette.
Zone: 6b
Germination rate: >90%
Very productive and was healthy despite inconsistent watering compared to other hot pepper varieties I also grew (serrano, jalapeno, hatch, bishop's crown) as I didn't have irrigation set up until half way through the summer. I will likely position a bean/squash trellis nearby next year so the peppers have afternoon shade.
I was looking for a pepper that was mildly hot with good flavor complexity for drying and making into rubs, taco seasoning, etc. and am very happy with this!
I cannot say enough good things about this seed company. We grew these in our community garden and they were awesome. Robust, hardy and easy to grow. Loved pickling them. Fun variety and loved the unique shape!
Love everything about them, from the look to the taste.
Great for pickling too.
