Biquinho Yellow Pepper Seeds - A Tropical Flavor Sensation

Discover the unique and vibrant taste of Biquinho Yellow Pepper Seeds, a rare heirloom variety that brings a burst of tropical flavors to your garden and kitchen. These small, round peppers with a distinctive pointy end are celebrated for their crunchy texture and juicy bite, blending citrusy, fruity, and slightly smoky notes. Perfect for raw snacking, cooking, or pickling, Biquinho peppers (also known as Sweety Drops) are a must-have for any culinary enthusiast.

Why Grow Biquinho Yellow Peppers?

Originating from Brazil, these peppers are a beloved staple, prized for their mild heat (500-1,000 Scoville) and slightly tart flavor. The 24” compact plant is a prolific producer, yielding hundreds of 1-1/4" peppers that transition from pale green to sunny yellow, deepening to orange-red if left to ripen further. Whether you’re a home gardener or a gourmet chef, these peppers add a colorful and flavorful twist to any dish.

How to Grow Biquinho Peppers!

Start your Biquinho Yellow Pepper Seeds indoors 8 weeks before the last frost. Plant them in sterile soil, cover lightly (1/4” deep), and maintain 85°F bottom heat with bright light. Keep the soil moist, and expect germination in 7-21 days. Once seedlings develop 6 true leaves, transplant them into rich soil (30” apart) or large 5-gallon containers. Harvest the peppers when green for a crisp, tangy flavor or wait for their golden-yellow hue for a sweeter taste.

Versatile Culinary Uses

Enjoy Biquinho peppers fresh in salads, pickled in vinegar as a tangy condiment, or cooked into sauces and stir-fries. Try them pickled for a delightful treat that pairs perfectly with cheeses, meats, and cocktails. Check out our Pickled Sweety Drop recipe and read why even Martha Stewart loves these peppers!
