Love this company and their seed selection! Great customer service and helpful information about each variety of seeds.
These three chilies (Jalapeno, Serrano and Poblano) are my go to chilies for anything I make. I use the Poblanos for any green recipe (I made a great Chile Verde) and I always use Serranos to spice up everything including dinner salads.
This 3-pack gives me most of the chilies I need. The seeds are high quality and have a high germination rate. Sandia has always been very good for my chilies.
Bear with me a moment. Like the rest of 2020, my pepper growing was mostly cursed. I started all of my seeds indoors on time for transplant then got busy. The peppers got leggy before I realized. I dropped my tray of pepper plantlings while taking them outside to get real sun one day; many peppers perished. The week I'd planned to transplant, we got a late frost (May!). More peppers died waiting for me to transplant, because I am bad at caring for indoor plants.
Of the 70 or so pepper seeds I planted, about 10 made it to the garden. Most were poblano. These little guys survived my abuse and neglect and gave me tons of the most beautiful, flavorful poblanos all summer and into the fall. I even found a couple in late November. These peppers became part of stew, Indian dishes, fish tacos, morning scrambled eggs, salsa verde, and more. The plants were tall and hardy, and the bumblebees loved them. I ordered this trio again for this year's garden.
Wow, what a story! Don't feel bad, there are no mistakes in gardening, only experiments! ;) And, it sounds like you had a great harvest despite the 2020 struggles. May 2021 be filled with lots more 'experiments' and successes! Thanks for sharing.
What a great deal on my favorite pepper seeds. Thanks!
Great combo of the best pepper seeds. Thanks!
I love that you put these three peppers together in a 3-pack. I love growing these peppers ever year, so getting 15% off these seed packets is great. I love Sandia Seed as the seeds always have great germination, and I love the variety of peppers I can grow from seed. I only wish I had more room so I could grow ALL of your peppers and tomato seeds! Maybe someday.
