Growing Habaneros in Pots:
Growing habanero in pots (or any peppers that are suited to containers) is great for getting a big harvest of habaneros. All habanero varieties grow very well in pots, make sure to pick out a pot that is at least 5 gallons in size, and has a good height of 12-14 inches or taller. The bigger the pot, the happier the Habanero pepper.

Then growing Habaneros in pots is a great way to grow some of these delicious longer-season pepper varieties in short seasons.
Classic orange Habaneros are the fastest growing Habaneros, taking about 90 days to reach maturity, while the Yellow Caribbean Habanero takes 110 days. The longer growing period you have to work with, the more Habaneros you'll be able to harvest!
With Habanero pots, you can bring them indoors or into a sheltered location such as a hoop house (shown above) or garage when temperatures dip below 50˚ F. Peppers in general like temperatures above 50-60˚ F – and will get stunted if kept in cold temperatures below 50˚F for too long. View all of our Habanero seeds »

When growing Habaneros in pots, make sure to use well-draining potting soil – not garden soil or top soil, as these can hold water and drown your peppers. Also be sure that your containers are at least 5 gallons and 12-14+ deep. The larger the container, the happier the Habanero plant! Larger containers also help as they can hold more water so the pots don't have to be watered as often. That said, on late summer's dry, hot days you may need to water your containers once a day or whenever the soil has dried out slightly. Don't overwater them either, though as peppers hate soggy feet.
