For nearly 20 years, Sandia Seed Company has been chasing one deliciously fiery dream: helping gardeners grow the world’s most amazing peppers right at home.
Back in 2008, truly authentic green chiles and one-of-a-kind heirloom peppers were hard to track down on ordinary seed racks. So, we decided to bring the heat! We began with our favorite Hatch green chiles and have kept growing ever since, adding rare super-hots, sweet specialty peppers, flavorful heirloom tomatoes, and plenty of garden goodies along the way.
Every garden has its surprises, victories, and tasty little lessons. Whether you are tending a few cheerful pots on a patio or filling a backyard with color, we are thrilled to grow alongside you. Thank you for sharing your harvests, recipes, photos, and pepper-loving excitement with us.

Sport Pepper is best known as a classic topping for authentic Chicago-style hot dogs. Pickled whole or made into relish, its medium heat makes it a flavorful addition to sandwiches. Sugar Rush Peach is a distinctive pepper with vibrant peach-colored skin and a sweet, fruity flavor. Despite its cheerful appearance, it packs serious heat, reaching up to 100,000 Scovilles.
Big Beef Plus F1 tomato offers a slightly sweeter, juicier flavor while preserving the classic beefsteak acidity of Big Beef F1. This improved variety also includes expanded disease resistance, with added protection against Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus and blights. Rutgers 250 tomato delivers improved disease resistance, firmer fruit, and a better balance of sweetness and acidity while bringing back the classic old-time flavor that made the original Jersey tomato famous. San Marzano II is a refined strain of the traditional open-pollinated San Marzano heirloom. It produces larger, sweet, low-acid tomatoes with meaty flesh and improved disease resistance.
Dragon’s Tongue Bush Bean is a well-loved Dutch heirloom wax bean known for its colorful purple-and-yellow pods. Compact plants produce excellent yields of sweet, crisp beans. Munstead Lavender is a compact, easy-to-grow lavender with excellent heat tolerance and early summer color. Its nectar-rich flower spikes attract honeybees, bumblebees, native solitary bees, butterflies, and hoverflies. Butternut Winter Squash is a delicious heirloom variety with a rich, sweet, nutty flavor. It was bred to fit comfortably in a family refrigerator, slice more easily, and grow in backyard gardens. It grows a vigorous 8 to 15 foot vine and is a great choice for beginner gardeners.
