Jalapeno Salsa Recipe
(or a jar or large 28oz can of preserved tomatoes)
1 Bunch of fresh Cilantro leaves
(use as much as you'd like)
1-3+ Jalapenos - any variety
Note: You can also use any fresh or dried hot peppers for this recipe (Santa Fe Grande Peppers, Cayenne Peppers, Habanero Peppers, Thai Hot Peppers, Red Cherry Hot Peppers, Ghost Peppers, you name it!
1/2 Onion, Diced*
(optional: soak in cold water 20+ minutes
to sweeten if it's a very strong onion)
3-6 Garlic Cloves
Fresh Lime Juice (1 lime)
1 Teaspoon of Sugar or Honey (optional)
Teaspoon of Cumin & Chile Powder
to your taste
Salt & Pepper
Process everything (excluding onions) in a food processor.Add diced onions at end and blend for just a second so the onions stay chunky. Put the salsa in a glass container and store in the fridge for an hour+ for flavors & spice to develop. Enjoy with chips, on tacos, burritos, or even sometimes with a spoon! 😉

Make this recipe into a unique Orange Salsa
with orange tomatoes and orange jalapenos!
You can also substitute tomatillos instead of using tomatoes to make a salsa verde. Leave out the sugar/honey, as ripe tomatillos are quite sweet on their own!
Experiment with different varieties of jalapenos,
some are much hotter than others!
