What garden gadget has proved to be the most useful for you?

We asked on our Facebook post "What garden gadget has proved to be the most useful for you?" and here are some of your answers below. So many great responses and some funny ones, too:
- My mom’s most used was a 6 inch knife. We used it to harvest dandelions in the spring. Pushed it into the ground and cut just under all the leaves so you had the whole top. Yes the knife was kinda dull. We used it in the garden for cutting too.
- Billhook for cutting sunflower heads, and garden edging.
- Milk crates! I use fabric pots and place them in the crates to keep them from getting knocked over and easy to move and secure in case of bad weather.
- My cold frame and mini garden bed hoop house, they are great for storing seedlings in the spring to harden them off and keep them warm enough during the cooler spring nights or late snow storms. Plus, I can move my potted peppers into them in the fall to extend the season. We have a short growing season here. In the winter, I grow spinach, lettuce, cabbage, herbs and green onions in them.
- Asparagus knife from Red Pig Tools that I use for weeding.
- A chameleon cultivator is my best tool in the garden. Google it.
- Treadlight broad forks
- I have found my old back to be the most useless tool 😆
- A tree planting shovel. One of our best tools!
- Ph tester
- The bench. I can't kneel but I sit and can pull weeds.
- Hori knife
- Hand rake
- My gorilla cart... I use this all over the yard and for moving furniture.
- Four things I couldn’t live without: good clippers, my 5 gallon bucket, a good shovel and my four wheeler wheelbarrow.
- Kneel pad, a 20 gallon tree pot with handles to first drag my tools to where I'm working and then I use it to put weeds in as I pull them (then I empty the bucket into a trash bag), a big screw driver - way better at loosening weed roots than any fancy tool, and my gloves. Ready to go.
- My husband 😆
- The things I end up using the most are plain old scissors, a flat head screwdriver, a vintage Tupperware colander, and a 5 gallon bucket.
- Ryobi battery operated pruners. Saved my arthritic hands.
- Second the hori. The least useful has been a bulb planter. Not strong enough.
- Oh, I also got the Fiskars stand-up weeding tool this year, and it's been a godsend for getting weeds out of the lawn!
- It's usually either my hori knife or my snips (I use "emergency room" scissors), but I've done way more planting this year in horrible, hard clay soil so this year it's been the mattock and the auger.
- I got my Hardware store guy to help me rig a hose to a 55 gallon rain barrel. I use it for in the greenhouse watering. Not much pressure but perfect for my containers
- Best: My curved harvesting knife was clutch for impossible to reach fruits. Sharp, long, thin and curved (there is a joke here...) for reaching between the long breakable squash leaf stalks.
- Agree with Hori Hori knife
- Electric pole saw. Saved a visit from a tree trimmer that would likely know less than I.
- Good left handed pruners - Felco#16
- Pitch fork for compacted rocky soil.
- The little hand hoe thingy.
- A good soil knife does so many things
- Stirrup hoe! Can't believe I didn't even know about them until a couple years ago.
-
I find these unusual tools indispensable:-McLeod-Manure fork for scooping and composting leaves without bending-Largest dust pan-Stihl gas powered pole saw-Anvil garden loppers
- My Dramm watering can is the best watering can I have found for use in my garden! It has a long spout, which we never realized how convenient this was until I used it. I also love that the large top opening for easy filling. The rain spout is amazing, and it comes apart to easily remove any debris like leaves (since we use water from a rain barrel). The generous yet gentle rain-like shower it provides doesn't dislodge recently germinated seedlings.
- Prayer
- Excedrine 😆
