The most popular green chile to grow because of its mild heat content and it matures early and grows well in short seasons. Hatch Green Mild - NM 6-4 has always been the standard for open-pollinated mild green chile. It is such a wonderful variety that it remains very similar to its improved cousin NuMex Heritage 6-4. Pods are 6" long with thick fleshy walls and grow on 30” plants.  A large amount of Hatch Green Mild can be added to recipes for delicious and traditional flavor and aroma with mild heat and not the burn of hotter varieties. Capsicum annuum (70 days) Heirloom - Open-Pollinated - Untreated

Heat Level: Mild Scoville: 1,000

~ Packet contains 30 seeds.

In early spring, start seeds indoors 8 weeks before warm nightly temperatures. Place the seeds in sterile media and cover 1/4” deep. Provide 85°F bottom heat, and bright light, and always keep moist. Seeds will germinate in 7 - 21 days. Transplant seedlings into pots and grow until there are 6 true leaves on the plant. Plant them directly into rich soil, 30” apart, or into large 5-gallon containers. Harvest chiles when they are green. If left on the plant a couple more weeks, the chiles will turn red at full maturity.

All of our seeds are GMO-free.

LOVE these!

I lived in NM for a year and fell in love with Green Chilis. Now I live in PA and grow them from these seeds. Every year I have SUCH a bountiful and delicious harvest. I usually can most of it for use year round. These seeds never disappoint, I used the same packet a couple years in a row. Just bought two more packets.

Delicious chiles

Love the thick walls on these tasty chile pods, easy to roast and peel – they make great green chile. Thanks for the excellent seeds.

Easy to start from seed, very productive

My wife and I were really happy with the production on these plants, we had plenty of chile to make lots of pots of green chile! Very tasty, the nice large pods had thick flesh made them easy to peel after roasting on our grill, too.

Beautiful Peppers! 🌶

I grew these from seed starting in March in northern NJ. I never see these “hatch” types around this area & they did great! Every seed came up too. I still had a few fruit on some of the plants this colder time if the year. Made sausage & peppers. 😋
