Lemon Spice Jalapenos are fruity

An exciting hot jalapeno pepper with a stunning burst of fruity flavor and an eye-catching vibrant yellow color! This jalapeno has a citrusy-fruity taste with smooth yellow skin. The medium-to-thick walls provide a satisfying crunch with each bite. The plant itself is super ornamental and extremely prolific.

Yellow Jalapenos - Lemon Spice jalapenos in hand.

This sunny lemon-yellow jalapeno variety was bred at the New Mexico State University (NMSU) Chile Pepper Institute using natural backcrossing techniques. It is a spicy yellow jalapeno result that carries the NuMex name that is attributed to all NMSU cultivars.

These vigorous seeds will produce productive sturdy plants that grow 24” tall and yield bright colorful peppers 2 to 3" long by 1" wide. The fruits ripen from green to bright yellow in as little as 65 days after transplanting. This jalapeno can be hot at up to 30,000 Scoville heat units.

“Loved these jalapeños! The bright yellow was a beautiful pop of color in the garden, the plants were prolific and the fruits were a great spice level for a jalapeño. We made poppers out of them and pickled a few batches. We definitely will be growing more of these next year!”
