Hatch Red X Hot - Ms. Junie - Authentic red chile flavor with a lot of hot heat! This chile is grown in the Hatch Valley of southwest New Mexico and surprises everyone with its great flavor and heat. This Hatch Red Ms. Junie variety is perfect for roasting, making red chile sauce or grinding into pungent red chile powder from its dried pods.

Chiles are 9" long on productive 36” plants. A very heavy yielding chile pepper. It turns quickly from green to red. Fresh red chile is perishable and difficult to find in grocery stores. Grow your own and pick it at peak maturity.

Capsicum annuum (85 days) Heirloom - Open Pollinated

Heat Level: X Hot  Scoville 9000 - 10,000

~ Packet contains 30 seeds.

In early spring, start seeds indoors 8 weeks prior to warm nightly temperatures. Place the seeds in sterile media and cover 1/4” deep. Provide 85°F bottom heat, bright light and keep moist at all times. Seeds will germinate in 7 - 21 days. Transplant seedlings into pots and grow until there are 6 true leaves on the plant. Plant them directly into rich soil, 36” apart. Harvest chiles when they are turn red at full maturity.

*Technically, to call any of these chiles "Hatch Chiles," they must be grown in the Hatch region of New Mexico. But we still think they taste great when grown all over the world, plus fresh homegrown chile is always extra-delicious and it's often hard to get New Mexican chile around the world! So this is way you can grow a little bit of New Mexico in your garden, no matter where you live.

All of our seeds are GMO-free.

First time growing these and I will definitely be growing these every year. Just picked my last peppers November 1st before the frost hit my garden here in Ohio. Started the seeds inside in March and planted them at the end of May and the plants produced all summer long. roasted half of them when still green and the other half I let get red and made a fantastic red chili sauce. I also dehydrated a bunch of red ones to use later for more chili sauce. Peppers were thick walled with a good heat and a great taste.

Delicious Chile

It's hard to get New Mexico chile where we live in the Northeast, so it's wonderful to be able to grow these in our garden! They are delicious roasted on the grill and peeled, chopped, and added to anything and everything. Thanks for the seeds!

Red Hot Hatch

We love this red Hatch chile! The seeds were very viable, and the plants were super productive. We use these to try and make into powder for enchilada sauce. The best ever! We will be growing these every year.
