This pepper is a hot chile pepper that is suitable for both pepper enthusiasts and those who prefer spicy foods. Its unique flavor sets it apart from other types of chili peppers. is a highly popular pepper in Brazil and is now gaining popularity in western countries. It is a staple in Brazilian cuisine, often used as a hot sauce and condiment in many dishes. Vinegar brine with malagueta peppers is a common ingredient in Brazilian cuisine, especially in Central and Northern Brazil. It is a small and tapered pepper that grows 2" long and grow on 24" - 30“ shrubby plants. The pepper is initially green but takes on a deep red color after it matures. Heat Level: Very Hot Scoville: 60,000-100,000

~ Packet contains 10 seeds. 

In early spring, start seeds indoors 8 weeks prior to warm nightly temperatures. Place the seeds in sterile media and cover 1/4” deep. Provide 85°F bottom heat, bright light and keep moist at all times. Seeds will germinate in 7 - 14 days. Transplant seedlings into pots and grow until there are 6 true leaves on the plant. Plant them directly into rich soil, 30” apart or into patio containers. Harvest peppers when they are red.

I have always had very good results
with seed purchased from Sandia Seed Co.
The Malagueta peppers were a bit slow to germinate
but that is normal with some pepper types
